A very respected colleague of mine, Rabbi Ari Weiss, is running an organization called Tav HaYosher, which is essentially a social responsibility hechsher. Given the terrible business practices rampant in our society, this is clearly a way to make ahalcha relevant to contemporary consumption practices, and ensure that when we buy we are not enabling injustice.
